What we do
Our Mission
To assist youth, individuals and families in Moranbah who are homeless, or in crisis and at imminent risk of homelessness, to achieve the maximum possible degree of self-reliance and independence, through the provision of social support and accommodation.
OUR SERVICES
Our Housing Support Program assists individuals and families experiencing domestic violence and crisis situations.
Providing safe and engaging events, school holiday programs and specialised support for the youth in our community.
As an official agent for Centrelink we provide assistance to members of our community to access Centrelink, Medicare and other services.
How we began?
ELAM was formed due to the increasing need for crisis accomodation and support for disadvantaged members of our community. The first public meeting to discuss these concerns was held in 1987. Shortly thereafter, funding was received and ELAM Inc was born. It was the hard work and devoted from those early individuals that has allowed ELAM to become what it is today.
